Restoration of badly eroded river banks and the protection of trees and infrastructure which are being undermined by river currents or waves generated by boat wash is a common application for a variety of GeoPro products.

Where river banks can be reclaimed and the erosion is not severe then planting native vegetation protected by natural fibre products like GeoPro Coir Blanket, Coir Mesh or Coir Logs can be the easiest and most successful way to tackle the problems. As the natural fibre products degrade so the native trees and rushes take over and protect the river bank in the long term.

If the erosion is more severe and on-going there may be a need for hard armouring with GeoPro Gabions, Mattress and Geotextiles to reinforce the Riverbank in critical areas.  These materials can still be detailed to either be buried or planted into so ensuring a natural appearance.
