Mining projects offer the opportunity to utilise a number of geosynthetic, wire mesh and biodegradable products during their operation and during their rehabilitation. 

Steep rock faces in weathered rocks either at open cut mines or above mine portals will need both rock anchors and GeoPro RockMesh to protect operators and assets.  GeoPro RockMesh is woven steel wire mesh double twisted for better integrity against unravelling.

Access roads over weaks soils can be improved with both GeoPro Woven Geotextiles or GeoPro Cell which will reinforce, separate and reduce the depth of the required foundation soils.

GeoPro Cell can be used to form Heap Leach Pads and will provide better integrity and longer lifespan than conventional methods.  It can also be used to create a hydraulic channel and be infilled with concrete.

Mine Tailings are now lined with GeoPro Geomembrane and Laviosa GCL to protect groundwater and underlying soils from any contaminants from the mine process. For certain mine applications tailings or wastes which can be recovered by dewatering them using GeoPro Desludging Tubes

For retaining wall requirements GeoPro Gabions and GeoPro Cell can be used to build economical alternatives to concrete walls.  Both these products could utilise locally available infill and do not require any specialist equipment and are very suitable for remote areas.

In high rainfall areas in the tropics then GeoPro Erosion Blankets are utilised to protect drainage channels and protect steep slopes in weaker soils.

GeoPro Coir Blankets and GeoPro Coir Mesh can be also used to assist in rehabilitation of of mine projects where they are combined with planting or seeding to restore the natural habitat while protecting the slopes during establishment.
