The use of sand filled GeoPro Coastal Tubes to create soft armouring coastal defenses capable of protecting infrastructure and allow for beach replenishment are valuable options for a designer. 

Careful design and detailing is needed to ensure the structure is not undermined, outflanked or overtopped.  Woven geotextiles scour aprons and erosion blankets would be commonly used to ensure stability of the structure and to reinforce any vegetation that may become established.  The GeoPro Tubes are normally covered with sand and only exposed in times of storm.

Levee banks can similarly be raised with the dredge spoil being used to fill GeoPro Tubes and provide excellent protection to raised flood levels.
