Retaining Walls
There are several types of retaining walls we can provide to customers;

• Gabion walls with or without Geogrids soil reinforcement
• Cellular confinement with Geogrids reinforcement
• Temporary Geogrids or Geotextile wrap around MSE walls
• Other products often needed in retaining walls are Sheet Drain for concrete walls and Geotextiles for filtration.

Product Update - we are now offering design and build for GeoPro gabions and GeoPro cell walls. Gabion walls can be constructed from both welded or woven mesh and are excellent for situations where a more natural or decorative look is required. The GeoPro Cell is available with a coloured tan fascia to blend in with our sand coloured environment and is filled with locally available soils.

	GABIONS AND MATTRESS Wire mesh cages filled with stone to form handy hard armouring systems, which are ideal for flood protection works and riverbank restoration projects.
	CELLULAR CONFINEMENT Made from strips of welded HDPE this honeycomb structure provides three dimensional reinforcement and soil confinement.
	GEOGRIDS High strength, low elongation geogrids, made with woven, high tenacity polyester and protected with PVC coating. They are used primarily with modular retaining wall systems to reinforce the backfill soil and for steepening of embankment slopes and slip repairs.
	GEOTEXTILES Non-woven geotextiles are needle-punched polypropylene fabrics that are used in many civil engineering and waste management applications.
	DRAINBOARD Sheet drains are used behind concrete/block retaining walls to relieve hydrostatic pressure. Strip drains are used beside highways and for land drainage or landfill drainage projects.

Sludge Management
De-watering Tubes and bags are used for this process. Always place the tubes on dimpled DrainBoard. Some projects will involve bunding of the process area and there may be a need for Geomembrane liner. For long-term burial of contaminated de-watered sludges then the use of GCL underlying the tubes may be necessary.

	DEWATERING TUBES Sludge dewatering tubes are made from high strength woven geotextiles, which are sewn together and then carefully pumped full with waste sludge.

Coastal Management
These projects will involve additional Geotextile for scour aprons under the Coastal Tubes as well. Erosion Blankets may also be used to promote and protect native vegetation encouraged to grow over the final structures, resulting in a more natural appearance

	COASTAL TUBES Coastal Tubes are similarly constructed to the Sludge De-watering Tubes but instead of being filled with waste sludges they are filled with beach sand.
	COIR Coir is natural coconut fibres that are made into many products including coir logs and coir blankets. Coir can help reduce erosion, while allowing vegetation to grow through its matrix of fibres. Coir breaks down over time and mulches the soil.
	BIOPINS AND BIOGRIPPERS These products work well with coir or jute matting, providing good anchorage even in loose soils. They are made primarily from cornstarch and are fully biodegradable and compostible.
	EROSION BLANKETS For more permanent erosion control solutions then look no further than L450 and P 900 erosion blankets. They have excellent UV resistance and the polypropylene fibres reinforce the vegetation, which soon gets established in the open fabric.

Waste Management
Waste transfer stations can need dust control and odour management. Landfills need Geomembrane Liner, GCL, Sheet and Strip Drains to ensure proper containment and transfer of leachate and methane. For final rehabilitation can involve considerations for erosion control and revegetation.

	GEOMEMBRANE HDPE is the most common type of primary liner system for use in landfills, tailings and various types of ponds.

Water Storage
AquaBarrier can be custom made for water storage. Either as large tubes on site or smaller tubes which can be put on the back of a pickup. All have inner baffle restraints to prevent rolling.

Roadways
Roadway foundations over soft soils will often need Geotextiles and Geogrids to provide separation and reinforcement. Basal reinforcement over very weak soils will require high strength Geogrids or Cellular Confinement methods.
Using Non-Woven Geotextile impregnated in bitumen emulsion or reinforced with Glass Fibre Geogrids can increase the life of new asphalt overlays. Roadside drainage can involve Geotextiles or pre-fabricated Strip Drainage.

Odour Management
High-pressure spray nozzles deliver a fine mist, which is 99% water and 1% active ingredient. The sprays are regulated to cycle on and off to suit the needs of the project. The neutralising mist not only successfully reduces the odour it also importantly neutralises the odourous compounds such as Hydrogen Sulphide, Mercaptans and Ammonia. Available for both internal and external applications – can be used on temporary site with mobile unit or permanent sites with fixed installations.

Recent Work - Our mobile odour control trailer was leased out to a project in Mandurah, WA recently and was successful in eliminating the malodorous smells that were pervading a worksite. Because of the mobile odour control trailer, workers were able to continue working on site for an extra month and the project was completed on time. Our clients were very pleased and are looking for other potential sites which may need temporary odour control.

Slope Protection
To type of slope, the rainfall, soil type, slope angle and the function of the slope will determine the most suitable protection type. Solutions can involve either natural and synthetic Erosion Control Blankets to help establish and reinforce native vegetation. The use of Cellular Confinement systems is often recommended on steeper, critical fill slopes subject to heavy rainfall.

Riverbank Stabilisation
This is a very wide ranging topic and can be split into more natural approaches using; Coir Matting, BioPins and Coir Logs, etc to work with and reinforce the natural surroundings but relying on long term establishment of native vegetation. Where flows are high and there is a need to protect important infrastructure then Gabions, Stone Mattress and Cellular Systems may have to be considered and these too can be detailed to blend into the environment.

Spill Containment
AquaBarrier can be adapted to provide emergency storage to deal with accidental or dangerous spills.  The PVC fabric is inert to most liquids and the spill can be contained within the AquaBarrier until a cleanup procedure is established.  Additionally multiple AquaBarriers can be used to ‘encircle’  and prevent the spill spreading to other locations.   The mobile neutralising spray system can be used to provide Odour Management on site and is available for hire or purchase..

Silt Control
In a lot of countries it is now mandatory to put correctly installed silt fence on the perimeter of all job-sites to prevent sediment loss and prevention of contaminants getting into the river eco system.

In addition to silt pillows can be used hold back sediments which are found in site de-watering. For longer term sediment control on steeper slopes the use of smaller diameter coir logs is often a preferred option. Can filter fine sediments which then help long term establishment of native vegetation.

Contaminated Sites
Depending on the nature of the contaminated site and it’s location odour control could be an issue. Any contaminated sludge ponds will need to be dredged into de-watering tubes. GCL or Geomembrane may be needed to create a hydraulic barrier between contaminated materials left on site and any new construction. Sheet/Strip Drains and Geotextiles/Geogrids may be need to provide reliable drainage and long term soil stability.

Mining
Rockfall Netting is a useful over mine portals and in open cut mines to protect operators from rockfall. The double twist mesh provides greater integrity from unravelling.

Mine Tailings are generally put into large ponds and these are now increasingly having to be sealed with Geomembrane and GCL to protect groundwaters and underlying soils from contaminants. For certain mine applications tailings or wastes can be put into de-watering tubes to speed up the process of de-watering.

Heap Leach Pads can be constructed using cellular confinement materials to provide better integrity and longer life.

Channels which need to be formed for large open drainage or to carry process water can also utilise concrete filled cellular confinement systems which are flexible and are UV resilient.

Where mine processing is close to urban areas odour control systems may need to be considered.
