Our GeoPro range of erosion blankets are made from strong polypropylene fibres and are used for reinforcing important slopes, swales and channels where a more permanent erosion solution is sought compared to the temporary natural fibre alternatives.

GeoPro Erosion Blankets reduce the impact of run-off and rain impact and also trap sediment within the twisted fibres.  They are flexible enough to ensure they hold close contact with the underlying soil profile while allowing them to provide a reinforcing veneer to the surface.

GeoPro Erosion Blankets are permeable and allow grasses and other vegetation to grow through the fibres and become enmeshed in the matrix of the blanket. These erosion blankets work best when vegetation will become established and not in infertile, dry areas where alternative products like GeoPro Cell may be more appropriate.

Where high tensile strength is required such as on steeper slopes or where fast flows may be expected, then the P900 blanket would be the most suitable selection.  For swales and less steep slopes then the L450 or L600 would be the right choice.

GeoPro Erosion Blankets are installed by rolling the product down the slope or along the channel and then securing the blankets at regular intervals with GeoPro Biopins or Biogrippers. The type of pin will depending on the soil type and it's firmness. The frequency of the pins will depend on the steepness of the slope, prevailing winds and/or flow in the channel.  A cut-off anchor trench is also advisable for both slope and channel works.
