GeoPro Cell is a honeycomb structure that can be used for a variety of applications including erosion control, foundation improvement and retaining walls.  The cell is formed from ultrasonically welded strips of high density polyethylene that is expanded on site into a webbing and then filled with suitable local soils. The cell gives three dimensional reinforcement and confinement to the infill soils so allowing them to be used to provide an excellent semi flexible platform over weak soils .

The sheer strength provided by the cell allows soils to be stabilised and protected from erosion on steeped slopes and is an excellent solution to fill slope problems.  Local soils can be utilised as infill and the aperture and depth of the cell correctly chosen to take into account the slope angle, soil conditions and whether vegetation is likely to get established or not.

GeoPro Cell can also used in retaining walls for either a traditional mass gravity approach or as a fascia panel in geocomposite walls where small cell panels can be combined with a soil reinforcing element such as a GeoPro Geogrid in building an economical retaining structure.  In some situations the outer cell of the wall can be topsoiled and planting can be organised. 

Other interesting applications include infilling the cell with concrete for a hydraulic channel with the benefit of not needing details for expansion joints and temporary formwork.  The resultant channel lining is flexible and this can be important where the underlying soil is poor.   Where pond liners may be below the water table or affected by high winds then stone filled cell will provide the ballast necessary to keep the liner from becoming unstable.  Special anchorage details will be needed.
